Abbott Photography joins up to support AAPAS, Souls4Soles and The Academy of Performing Arts.

Marian Faustino

The AAPAS, Soles4Souls and The Academy of Performing Arts present The Mini Nutcracker.

The Asian American Performing Arts Society (AAPAS) will partner with the Academy of Performing Arts and Soles4Souls to present the first annual Southeast Nashville Mini Nutcracker December 4th and 5th, 2009 at the Tennessee School for the Blind Auditorium. Performances will be held at 7:00pm, Friday and Saturday, with a matinee at 2:00pm on Saturday.
Led by Nashville dancer Christopher Mohnani and resident choreographer Brian Williamson, the Mini Nutcracker is an abridged, narrated version of the full-length ballet The Nutcracker. It provides an opportunity for the community to usher the holiday season in a relatable, accessible and affordable way. It also provides local youth an opportunity to perform and participate, starting a holiday tradition they can call their own.

Youth performers have been pulled from areas throughout middle Tennessee. Nashville premiere danseurs Christopher Mohnani and Brian Williamson will be performing in addition to choreographing and staging the performance. Marian Faustino, Principal Ballerina from Ballet Philippines, international ballet competition medalist, will be performing the role of the Sugar Plum Fairy.
The production will also serve as a donation center for Soles4Souls. Audience members are requested to bring gently used pair of shoes to donate to national charitable organization Soles4Souls. These shoes will be recycled and distributed to people all over the world who are need of footwear.

Tickets are available at TicketsNashville.Com. General admission tickets are only $10 if bought online and are $15 at the door. Additionally, from November 16-28, 2009, the performers will visit the following area schools: Village Learning Center, Mt. Juliet Elementary, Hermitage Elementary, Ruby Major Elementary, Dodson Elementary, WA Wright Elementary, Rivergate Mall and Barnes and Noble Opry Mills. Students and other visitors will have a chance to learn about the performances, purchase tickets, watch excerpts from the Mini Nutcracker, and have their pictures taken with the Sugar Plum Fairy.

For more information, please visit the Donelson/Hermitage Academy of Performing Arts website, their Facebook page, or call 615-391-5500.

A day in the park.....

A day in the park with Taryn....who loves purple as I am sure you can tell! It was perfect that we found these flowers to match her outfit!
Love these last beautiful days of summer where the weather is not so hot and humid.
Its almost time for Fall-but still time to squeeze in a few more pictures of summer.

I gotta feelin....................

I saw the most incredible thing on TV today that I just HAD to blog about! If you missed the season opener today of OPRAH you have to read on and watch the video-Being a born and raised suburban Chicagoan I couldnt be more proud of my City-if only people could get together like they did on this-our world would be a much better place. Who really cares about your politics or your religion when you can DANCE!!!!

The Black Eyed Peas kicked off the new season of Oprah Winfrey's daytime talk show in stunning fashion on Tuesday by staging the largest single city 'flashmob' dance event ever.

Without the show host's knowledge, Peas star will.i.am teamed up with choreographers to create a dance routine for the band's "I Gotta Feeling" hit and then called on 800 fans to help him carry out the spectacle on TV.

The 800 were taught the moves and then they passed them on to another 20,000 Oprah fans, who showed up for the taping of the TV titan's free block party show in Chicago, Illinois.

The amazing finished product aired on TV in America on Thursday - when more than 20,000 people took over Chicago's Michigan Avenue and wowed Winfrey and will.i.am with a colourful synchronized dance routine.

After the performance, the singer/rapper told Oprah, "I didn't think it was going to be this spectacular... You talk about crowd participation, this is beyond... This is incredible."

And the host screamed, "That is so cool. That is the coolest thing ever... Chicago, I love you." World Entertainment News Network

Taylor Ann

A few pictures from a session with Little Ms Taylor Ann-I shot her baby pictures and I cannot believe she is already this big! She was so much fun to shoot and made me miss the days when my 23 year old was this age. They just grow up way to fast-but she sure is adorable at 6 months!
